Turn website visitors into real business opportunities
Every form submission from your landing page automatically creates a lead in Odoo CRM. This lesson covers how to view lead details, move leads through your sales pipeline, schedule follow-up activities, and export contacts for marketing campaigns.
The Kanban Board
The CRM Kanban board shows leads as cards organized into columns (stages). Drag cards between columns as leads progress. Default stages:
New
Freshly created leads, including those from your website form. Review and assess each one.
Qualified
Leads confirmed as genuine opportunities. You have contacted them and understand their needs.
Proposition
Leads where you have sent a proposal, quote, or detailed offer.
Won
Successfully closed deals — the contact has become a customer.
Working with Leads
View Details
Click any lead card to see contact info, source, sales team, expected revenue, priority, and tags.
Log Notes and Emails
Use the chatter to record observations, send emails directly from the lead, and track conversations.
Schedule Activities
Set reminders for follow-up calls, meetings, or tasks. Odoo notifies you when each is due.
Move Through Stages
Drag cards on the Kanban board or click stages in the status bar to advance leads.
Converting Leads to Opportunities
A lead is unqualified; an opportunity is verified. Click Convert to Opportunity to promote a lead, assign a salesperson, and optionally merge with existing opportunities for the same contact.
Export to Mailing List
Filter Contacts
Use CRM filters to select leads by stage, tag, or other criteria.
Switch to List View
Check boxes next to the contacts you want to export.
Action Menu
Click Action and choose Add to Mailing List. Select or create a target list.
Custom Stages
Add stages via + Stage on the Kanban board. Customize with probability percentages for revenue forecasting.
Follow-Up
Consistent follow-up is the most important factor in converting leads. Schedule activities for every open lead.
